Former collaboration project from 2011 that didn't go anywhere. I'm hoping to return to this by myself in the future (when I've finished my main writing projects).

Seven people sat around the table in the meeting room of a expensive country hotel. The meeting was being held here for the reason that it was remote and the meeting could be carried out in secret. Three of the attendees had been brought over from America. Their names were Daniel King, Thomas Simmons and Andrew Hadley. The remaining four were from the British Isles. Their names were, Joseph Page, Robin Burke, Maria Flanagan and Mae Llewellyn.
One month earlier an Irish historian, by the name of Robin Burke had discovered a small wooden box in Egypt, which contained a scroll from the ancient Library of Alexandria. The library which had burnt to the ground long ago, supposedly taking all four hundred thousand scrolls it contained with it. This scroll had for some reason however been saved. It was a scroll written by Egyptian priests and contained knowledge which had so far not been made public to the world at large. It contained knowledge of the ancient civilisation… Atlantis!
Robin Burke now stood at the head of the table and addressed the people assembled there for the meeting. “As you all know, we have selected the people here because you are the best our countries have to offer." She started.
"In front of you on the desk is a translated copy of scroll I recently uncovered in Egypt.”
She sat back down and watched silently as all the members of the meeting read the text in front of them. This is what she knew it said:
On the island of Atlantis, in 1400 BC the Atlanteans discovered a secret chamber hidden in the rooms of the first King's mother Cleito, long since dead and buried, centuries before. In the room, was a pendant made of the metal orichalcum and inset with five stones. The pendant gave the Atlanteans control of the elements earth, air, fire, water, and lightning.
Assuming the pendant is a gift from the gods, the Atlanteans then proceed to use its power not only to advance their civilisation far beyond that of any other, but also to create its vast empire spanning the entire world.
During the Great War with Athens, a group of Atlanteans decided that the pendant was evil, and so when the war was over the group of rogue Atlanteans broke into the palace and turned the pendants powers upon itself splitting it into five pieces. The destruction of the pendant caused the various disasters, which brought about the destruction of Atlantis and made it sink beneath the waves.
The five pieces were then scattered around the world in locations known only to the Atlanteans. The only clue is that the first piece is in a magnificent city of gold.
One by one the people finished reading their various documents and looked up at the woman who once again stood up to speak.
“It is unclear whether this pendant can do what is described, but the original scroll has been stolen from me. I am told it is the work of a terrorist organisation that not only believes in the pendant, but wishes to find it. I have been asked by both my own government and the United States government to lead this team on an expedition to find and recover the pendant before the terrorists. The only clue we have is to the first piece, in a city of gold, which the other side also have. We could very well be making the greatest discovery in history. Ladies and gentleman, the hunt for the pendant of Cleito has begun!"
